On September 09, 2020, in Pavlovsk, Voronezh Region, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tanais seed plant of the company Lidea was held.
Lidea’s Chief Executive Officer Pierre Fly Sainte-Marie and the Governor of the Voronezh Region Alexander Gusev, Patrice Server Head of Supply and Operations of Lidea, Stephane Dupille, Operations Leader in Russia and Alexey Prishchepov Russia Business Country Leader took part in cornerstone ceremony.
For Lidea, which was formed on September 1, 2020 with the rapprochement of Euralis Semences and Caussade Semences Group, the Russian market is one of the highest priorities. With 8 million hectares of sunflower, 4 million hectares of corn and 3 million hectares of soybean, the Russian market is a key growth market for Lidea on the European continent, both in the oilseeds and grain crops.
Therefore, the company continues its strategy of localizing seed production in the most important markets and thus ensures sustainable development, increases competitiveness and give much greater flexibility to supply customer demand. The new plant will meet all internal Euralis Semences quality requirements.
The site in the Pavlovsk socio-economic development zone occupies about 100 hectares, of which about twenty will be allocated for the plant and warehouse, and the remaining 80 hectares will host a research and development agricultural center, which will represent the leading brand developments.
During the ceremony, the Governor of the Voronezh Region Alexander Gusev said ” with the arrival of investors in the Voronezh Region, the policy to promote the attractiveness of territories of the Voronezh region is being finalized. I want to thank my colleagues from France for making such a decision. We will fulfill all the conditions stated in the agreement. The project is important both for Pavlovsk and for the Voronezh region as a whole. We will be able to significantly consolidate our successes in agriculture. “
Pierre Fly Sainte-Marie, Lidea’s CEO, highlighted ” the plant will be launched with a capacity of 600 thousand units of corn and sunflower. The facility was built and designed in such a way that, if necessary, it would be possible to increase its performance by 2-3 times. And the question is not only in quantity, but also in the quality of products. With the launch of the plant and, in general, with the development of Lidea in Russia, we will be able to provide agricultural producers with great technical support. Our seeds will be of high quality. The best technologies of the company and many years of experience in seed production, which we have, have been invested in the creation of the enterprise.”
The success of this event was made possible thanks to the involvement and work of all the employees working on the Tanaïs project.
