The “Atout Jeunes” 2024-2025 promotion on a study visit

Each year, about fifteen Euralis member farmers follow the “Atout Jeunes” Program.

Launched in 2015, this training supports farmers who have recently started or have a project in progress. It allows them to acquire a foundation of knowledge on economic and agricultural issues and working methods. It sometimes encourages taking on responsibilities: some participants become administrators in Producer organizations or at the cooperative level. The program lasts one year, including four theoretical sessions in a classroom during the winter period. These sessions are led by external speakers on subjects chosen by the participants from about fifteen. The program also includes a study trip of 4 to 6 days, in France or abroad, and field visits.

The most recent one was held in Bayonne. The “Atout Jeunes” 24-25 promotion was invited to a guided tour of the Bayonne Manutention facilities with, on the program, explanations on the site’s activity and the opportunity to witness the unloading of a Urea ship as well as bagging operations. The young farmers then visited the Maïsica facilities with, there too, a ship at the dock being loaded with corn. The day was very enriching for our young farmers who became aware of the many steps and constraints prior to receiving fertilizer at their farms or shipping their harvest to the final customer.
